My Wife Is Terrified Of The Mayan Calendar Theory Of 2012. How Can I Get Her To Calm Down And Stop Stressing?

This is inhibiting her normal daily life functions, should she visit a doctor about her anxiety caused by this?

Those guys know a lot about 2012 and everything people have been saying about Doomsday is a lie. Its all really easy to prove, too.
Regarding anxiety, if you aren’t just a Troll, which is really really unlikely, first thing to do is to stop reinforcing what is causing the anxiety. People that suffered from anxiety issues after 9/11 were found to spend a lot of time watching the video of the attacks over and over. Not their fault as the media seemed really happy to play the videos over and over… slo-mo… backwards… with commentary… judging the collisions for style and originality… face it, the media is scum.
Then, seriously, talk to someone who knows something about the subject. Go to a local astronomy club. Visit the nearest University Physics building. DO NOT LET HER WATCH THE HISTORY CHANNEL. Those guys are scum, too.

It’s not 2012 she should be worried about, but 2026. Albert Einstein’s theory of relativity (E=mc2) basically boils down to; Time is relative. It si. I bet if we looked at our watches right now, we’d be off by a minute or a few seconds. Even the nuclear clock in Colorado misses time. Calendars are no different. Some people are on the Julian calendar while the rest of us are on the Gregorian calendar, so to some 2012 will be early and to others 2012 will be later. It’s what happened to our millenium. Our calendars have changed over time and nothing happened. However…….
NASA discovered that this huge asteroid has been caught in our atmosphere and each year gets closer and closer to hitting us. They predict it will impact s sometime in 2026 which will cause at the very least devastation of magnitudinal proportions. Just last month NASA reported that asteroid came right out of space towards us and missed hitting us by only 4,00 miles and they only saw it coming 24hr in advance. They have asked congress for additional monies to research the impending asteroid.

Two possible things could happen in 2012:
1) The Calendar is right, we’re all gonna die. After death, your problems are over–you’ll have nothing to worry about.
2) The Calendar is wrong, we all survive. The sense of relief will be so strong, it SEEMS as if – in comparison to what you expected – you now have nothing to worry about.
So whether the calendar is right or wrong, either way, in 2012 you’ll have nothing to worry about.

tell her this, the Mayan calender never says the world will end.. it simply states that we will enter a new age almost a state of enlightenment .. and this is just a fragment of the calendar that we have so how can any one say the world is going to end with only half of the story ?

You can point out several of the many examples of when the world was going to end. The dawn of 2000 and 1000 are both examples. Also, the many groups of people who prepared for the end that did not come.
